今年度のT3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO 2026のメインテーマ「と」と呼応しながら、 T3 BOOK MARCHÉは、本「と」ともに何が可能になるのかを問いかけます。地理的には近くありながら、言語、制度、市場によって隔てられてきた私たちは、出版を通して新たな関係を結ぶことができるでしょうか。
イメージが急速に消費され、国際的な文化交流が政治的緊張や検閲、制度上の制約から少なからず影響を受ける現在においても、本は柔軟で小さな単位であり続けています。本は持ち運び、交換し、誰かとともに読むことができます。そして、従来の展覧会空間には収まりにくい親密な経験、地域の記憶、実験的な表現、いまだ完成していない思考を受け止めることができます。
アジア各地の出版を取り巻く環境は一様ではありません。言語、政治的状況、制度、制作費、そして表現の可能性には、それぞれ大きな違いがあります。T3 BOOK MARCHÉ は、アジアの完全な地図を描くことも、単一の「アジア性」を定義することも目指しません。異なる地域の実践が、それぞれの差異を保ちながら関係を結ぶ場をつくることを目指します。
今年のT3 BOOK MARCHÉは、一時的な群島のような空間として展開します。中国語には「同舟共済」という熟語があり、同じ舟に乗った人々が互いに支え合い、変化する水域をともに渡ることを意味します。会場には島のようなテーブルが点在し、それぞれを三組の出展者が共有します。参加者は独立したブースに分けられるのではなく、異なる背景や実践を持つ人々と同じテーブルを囲みます。各テーブルは、異なるイメージ、言語、記憶を載せる島であると同時に、見知らぬ者同士が一時的に乗り合わせる舟でもあります。さらに会場には十二組の壁面展示スペースを設け、一時的に停泊し、さらに遠くへ旅するためのポートとして位置づけます。
T3 BOOK MARCHÉでは、アーティスト、写真家、出版社、編集者、デザイナー、コレクティブ、書店、プラットフォームなどからの応募を受け付けます。完成した写真集やアーティストブックに限らず、zine、アーカイヴを用いた出版、実験的な印刷物、そして自らの形式や流通のあり方を模索しているプロジェクトも歓迎します。

Responding to the main theme of T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO 2026, T3 BOOK MARCHÉ asks what becomes possible with the book. Though geographically close, we have long been separated by language, institutions, and markets. Can we forge new connections through publishing?
Even as images are rapidly consumed and international cultural exchange is increasingly affected by political tensions, censorship, and institutional constraints, the book remains a flexible and portable unit. Books can be carried, exchanged, and read with others. They can hold intimate experiences, local memories, experimental expressions, and thoughts not yet complete -- things that rarely fit within conventional exhibition spaces.
The publishing landscape across Asia is far from uniform. Language, political context, institutions, production costs, and expressive possibilities differ vastly. T3 BOOK MARCHÉ does not aim to draw a complete map of Asia or define a singular Asian-ness. It seeks to create a space where practices from
different regions can connect while preserving their differences.
This year's T3 BOOK MARCHÉ unfolds as a temporary archipelago. The Chinese idiom tong zhou gong ji speaks of people in the same boat supporting one another across changing waters. The venue features island-like tables, each shared by three exhibitors. Participants gather around the same table with others from different backgrounds and practices. Each table is both an island carrying different images, languages, and memories, and a vessel where strangers temporarily come aboard. Twelve wall exhibition spaces define the venue as ports -- places to briefly anchor before journeying further.
T3 BOOK MARCHÉ welcomes applications from artists, photographers, publishers, editors, designers, collectives, bookshops, and platforms. Beyond completed photobooks and artist books, we welcome zines, archive-based publications, experimental printed matter, and projects still exploring their own form and distribution.
