Lee Gapchul “Contemplation and Abstraction” 1990-2002

During the T3 PHOTO ASIA, as part of a related event, we will showcase the works of Lee Gap-Chul (b.1959-, Jinju) at Kurenboh. Lee has explored the deep-rooted unconscious mind through photography, depicting the emotional and cultural essence of the land, its people, and the traditional rural and folk life of the Korean peninsula. Following his renowned work Collision and Reaction (1990‒2002), the Master+ at Kurenboh exhibition will present previously unseen pieces in which the artist explores spontaneous, unconscious moments of emotion, aiming to complete his photographic aesthetic through the concepts of Korean spirit, contemplation, and abstraction.
